founded by John Shelton Reed, co-edited by Harry L. Watson and Larry J. Griffin, of UNC-Chapel Hill UNC Press joins with the UNC Center for the Study of the American South in publishing Southern Cultures. This award-winning journal explores the history, politics, folklore, literature, and art of the South. Each issue includes articles and essays; reviews of books, museum exhibitions, films, and sound recordings; and regular features, such as "South Polls," which present public opinion polls on topics of regional interest.
